Years ago, seeing orbs of light was only possible after the fact.
We’d develop a roll of film from a family gathering, for example, and thumb through the photos only to find a bright, reflective orb floating across the image!
Today, thanks to our digital cameras, we see orbs almost instantly now.
It is undoubtedly exciting–and sometimes very artistic–but what does seeing orbs of light mean?
Are these bright glowing lights heralds from another world or are they simply unexplained physical phenomenon?
People have debated what orbs mean for years, but most are either vehicles for angelic visitations or spiritual beings, themselves.
Let’s learn a little more about orbs and what they mean for our everyday lives!
Is An Orb Always Spiritual?
Some people mistakenly believe that any kind of orb is spiritual and get very angry when others attempt to disprove or “debunk” orbs.
However, we do know that some orbs can be explained by things like floating specs of dust or an insect flitting across the screen.
When we say “orb,” in fact, what we’re referring to is a physics equation.
Light simply bounces off our camera, to something spiritual or physical whose energy is dense enough to bend or reflect the light back to the camera, making it possible to capture photographically.
So, orbs are not always spiritual, but they certainly can be.
Seeing orbs of light is an indication that the spiritual being is dense enough or vibrating at a high enough frequency to be able to bounce light back to the camera.
Low-energy spirits, then, be definition, rarely create orbs.
Instead, they show up as an absence of light or a shadow.
It’s something of a relief to know that most high-vibrating spirits are the kind of good, loving, positive spirits that we love to hear from.

Should You Say Hi?
One of the things you can do, if you suspect the orb of being a spirit, is to think about what’s going on or has recently happened.
Here are a few other questions to ask, to help you determine what you’re seeing:
- Has there been a special occasion, like a birthday or anniversary? Spirits love to visit during times like this!
- Did other people feel or see anything–for example, get goosebumps for no reason or feel a tingly sensation on the backs of their necks?
- Is there some big turning point or spiritual awakening happening for someone in the photo (or for the camerawoman)?
If you’re still in the room when you’ve noticed the orb and you believe he or she is a spirit, you can speak or say hi.
Keep in mind, though, that the spirit might simply want you to know of her presence and might not wish to reveal herself in another way!
If you’re not comfortable trying to communicate with the spirit on your own, you may want to get the guidance of a compassionate psychic or medium who will walk you through the process.
Finally, if you’re seeing orbs of light, you might be seeing an angel orb.
Viewed from a distance, you can’t tell the difference between a regular dust orb and an angel orb, but viewed up close, you’ll find that an angel orb is much more complex.
This kind of orb is almost like a snowflake in its beautiful intricacies and colors.
One key way to know if the orb is a holy angel or something without positive intentions is to test it.
How do you feel around it? If you feel positive feelings such as peace and love, that’s a good sign.
If, however, you feel fear or anxiety in the presence of the angel orb, those feelings should be red flags to you. Use discernment, pray for guidance, and do not communicate.
Orbs are beautiful and can be comforting signs of a spirit or angel’s presence. The next time you see one, take a few moments to explore and consider. You might just be receiving a visitor in another dimension!
