Oak Hill is a small beach town in Florida that, at first glance, does not appear to have anything out of the ordinary going on.
The shores of the Atlantic allow for fishing and other water sports, but even then, the population is less than 2000, despite its lovely location.
However, what Oak Hills does have are haunted roads.
Updated 2/10/2020 – Some roads should not be frequented at night.
Maytown Road in Oak Hill appears to be one of them.
Friends turn to foes on this Oak Hill Florida road
“We’d been fighting for most of the night,” our source told us.
“Road trips do that to you,” she added, shivering.
She and her boyfriend had been arguing for most of the drive, and neither of them paid any attention to where they were driving.
“Then I looked at the dash and realized we’d driven off course.
We were not supposed to go down Maytown Road.”
Of course, that increased the fight between her and her boyfriend.
He stopped the car on the side of the road, and they both got out.
“He said he took a left turn, not a right.
He swore he had not driven us there.”
Seething, she turned away, wanting to scream.
Only, the scream froze inside her.
Shadows lurked everywhere.
The trees on either side looked evil, their branches swinging, despite the fact that there was no wind.
“They looked like spindly arms, wanting to grab us,” she said.
“I turned around, and I saw that my boyfriend’s eyes had gone pure black.”
His face was slack; his eyes were black, his hands outstretched.
He resembled a zombie, walking towards her with his arms outstretched.
Still unable to scream, she fell back and felt the branches grab her.
It felt as if they had thorns.
When she felt one of them pierce her skin, she was finally able to scream.
And when she did, she found herself back in the car.
Her boyfriend was at the wheel, telling her that he had not taken the left turn.
The dash showed that they were still on Maytown Road.
Only, they were driving back the way they had come.
Her clothes were fine.
There were no wounds on her arms.
Evil seems to lurk on Maytown Road in Oak Hill Florida
Maybe if the girl and her boyfriend were locals, they would have known not to go down Maytown Road at night.
Locals avoid doing that at all costs.
They don’t like to talk about why.
Most of them seem too frightened to tell the tale.
But not all of them.
Back in the day, before the time of roads and pavement, there was a graveyard that got paved over when the road was made.
According to the locals, it was an ancient mass grave.
There were no headstones to mark the place, only tales of an illness that spread and the fatalities were burned, then buried in the mass grave.
Their spirits were unable to move on, and when their grave got paved over, they got twisted, mad, and evil.
Now, they terrorize any victim that dares drive down their road.
So, unless you want to be possessed, stay away from Maytown Road in Oak Hill Florida.
