When the movie, The Boy was released, it reminded many that even a cute porcelain doll has the power to claim your soul.
Updated 2/10/2020 – Despite the plot twist in the movie (no spoilers, please), it’s apparent that there’s a supernatural force behind the main character that ensures its survival.
While this may just be a movie written to send chills down your spine, you can’t neglect the fact that haunted dolls are real.
As you can see from the video below, haunted dolls have been bringing misfortune to their owners over the years, from Pupa to Robert the Doll and all the way to Annabelle.
However, not all of the are possessed by demons or ghosts.
Some are downright cursed by those with dark powers as dolls are considered the best objects to practice voodoo and other dark arts.
What makes cursed dolls an issue is that they’re easily available through Craigslist, eBay and other standalone haunted doll purchasing sites.
As a result, people tend to collect them easily in hopes of participating in cursed object exhibitions, being featured in paranormal activity shows, or getting fame through YouTube channels about haunted dolls.
However, if you do get your hands on a haunted doll, you need to be very careful so as to not offend it.
This is especially true if you have kids in the house as they’re most likely to bond with the entities in the dolls or be terrorized by them the most.
Treat the doll with respect and reassure it by expressing how much you care for it.
Despite what people may think, don’t neglect your doll ever.
Most importantly, don’t throw away the haunted doll.
If the entity residing in it is as strong as you perceive, it may end up back on your doorstep with a major bone to pick with you.
If you absolutely must, give it away or sell it again while warning the new owner that this isn’t an ordinary doll.
That way, they too won’t have to worry when the doll makes things go bump in the night.
