Second, the length of time you spend in an online reading, and the experience of your spiritual advisor, will largely determine the standard price you’ll pay.
The reading method, such as chat, live video, and/or email, will also affect the price.

What Kind of Reading Method Do You Prefer?
Thanks to the internet, psychics can reach a broader audience than ever before.
These days, their services are typically offered via three different methods.
The method that is best for you just comes down to what you like most.
The duration of each method varies, as every person has their own question(s) to ask, and some people prefer longer vs shorter sessions, and vice-versa.
However, I’ll briefly go over the different types and the typical amount of time so you can get an idea about the standard prices.
Again, please keep in mind that the exact timespan varies.
Just because some people will get a reading for 60+ minutes certainly doesn’t mean you have to as well.
If you prefer a reading that’s just 3 – 5 minutes, that’s completely fine. But if you have a lot of questions to ask, then a session that goes 60+ minutes, 90+ minutes, 120+ minutes, etc., is also completely fine.

Online Chat Readings
This method is the most popular with people who like to get readings over the internet.
It’s great for those who are nervous about seeing a psychic face-to-face.
It’s also extremely convenient.
Psychic sites usually offer this method via live chat or text messaging services.
Typically, people, who are new to online psychic chat, will have a session that lasts from 3 minutes to 30+ minutes.
Video Chat
Video chat is a live online session that is face-to-face with the psychic via…you guessed it; video.
Online networks usually have their own platform and don’t require that you download an outside application for a video reading.
However, freelance spiritual advisors will use an application like Skype that you need to download.
People who like getting video readings will usually have a session that lasts from 10 minutes to 60+ minutes.
Readings by email aren’t as common as online chat readings.
Likely because you aren’t able to get immediate answers.
You have to wait for the reply which could take a few minutes, a few hours, or possibly a few days.
That said, if you don’t mind waiting it’s a decent option.
The length of time these readings take depends on how long it takes the psychic to answer the question – not how long it takes you to type it.
Typically, people will ask one question in an email.
After the psychic finishes reading the message they will use their abilities, i.e. clairvoyance, mediumship, and so on, to get the answer(s) you seek.
Then type and send their reply to you.
From beginning to end, it usually takes them about 15 to 30 minutes.
Note: Some online mediums prefer to charge by question, rather than time.
In that case anticipate a flat rate around $50.

This is because they want to build their experience and skill set before they can gradually raise their rates.
Prices in the range are usually $1.99 – $3.98 per minute.
Sometimes, psychics give readings over the internet as a side source of income so they can afford to charge less than full-time mediums.
Intermediate Skill: $3.99 – $6.98 per minute
The price for a medium with intermediate skill ranges from $3.99 per minute to $6.98 per minute.
The rate will typically increase based on the psychic’s experience level and/or as they build a reputation in the field.
Highly Skilled: $6.99 – $12.98 per minute
If you want to chat online with a highly skilled medium, the per-minute cost of these readings, on average, is $6.99 to $12.98.
Such a price point factors in components like:
- The psychic’s years of training and experience
- Mediums have a highly unique skill set to offer
- Operating costs (fees they pay to the psychic network – or for rent and utilities if they are a freelance advisor)
- These higher costs are typically for deep life and/or relationship readings to guide you on your personal path
Top Psychics: $12.99 and up, per minute
Top internet psychics charge $12.99 per minute, or more, for readings.
They typically have a following and solid reputation for accurate readings, giving them latitude to charge higher rates.
